Summer means a lot of different things to people. Vacation, sand, surf, hot temperatures and relaxation. I agree with all of those sentiments, and even in Texas where I live, summer is a wonderful time of year. However, summer sometimes feels like a toll bridge I have to cross to get to the place I really want to be! Yes, college football fans, the final destination I am talking about is the start of the college football season.
Unless you are lucky enough to still be cheering your team on in Omaha at the College World Series, there aren't a lot of college sports to concentrate on and look forward to in late June. If you're like me, you are already scanning the calendar and planning your fall vacations centered around football games, tailgating and hopefully cheering your team on to victory! This summer I am trying something new. I am not going to feel guilty about thinking ahead and instead I am going to jump in and start dreaming of the cooler, football filled weekends ahead! So let's indulge our desire to dream of fall and college football. Plan your tailgating menu, move your favorite team jersey from the back of your closet to the front and start talking trash to your conference rivals at work. 2011 is going to be a great fall for football!
